  Dad's Boss: My Dirty Secret

I shouldn’t mix business with pleasure.

Shouldn’t risk my reputation on a girl so young. . .

  Shouldn't keep thinking about her. . .

I run my own company and can date anyone I desire,

So why do I want this romance story to come true?

Am I going to be able to stop myself from pursuing my employee’s daughter?

If I could resist her, I wouldn’t be asking myself that question. . .I’m going to be her boss.

*Dad’s Boss: My Dirty Secret is a quick-read, standalone insta-everything & instalove romance with an HEA, no cheating, and no cliffhanger.

  Chapter 1

  Charles

I’m supposed to keep things professional. The entire company is here, and even though half of them are laughing too loud after their third glass of spiked eggnog, I still have to keep my composure. But there’s a woman here, with a smile that lights up her entire face. She’s the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen. Greg from accounting is telling me about his vacation to Aruba, to which I nod along, but I’m watching her over his shoulder.

It takes almost half of the night, but I finally manage to catch her alone. She’s back at the buffet, picking at a fruit plate. I’m not hungry, but I slide next to her with an empty plate.

“I don’t think we’ve met,” I say coolly. “My name is Charles.”

She’s popping a grape into her mouth as I speak, and she blushes as she rushes to chew and swallow it.

  “Emma, nice to meet you.”

She holds out a hand for me to shake. Her skin is incredibly soft.

“So, are you a lucky someone’s date or do you work in a department I don’t know well?”

“Neither,” she says with a smile.

Arthur approaches me from the side, his face flushed with drunkenness.

“Charles,” he slurs. “I want you to meet my wife.”

He pulls at my arm, dragging me away. I watch as Emma’s mouth opens and closes, her eyes following me as I’m pulled into another conversation. As the men and women around me chatter, their words slide past me.

All I can focus on is her.

  Across the room.

  Impossibly far away.

  Chapter 2

  Emma

The drive back to the Northeastern State campus is longer than I thought it would be. There’s a thin layer of snow on the sides of the highway, but the roads are clear enough for my father’s truck to barrel along without worry.

“Thanks for taking me to your company’s holiday party,” I say. “It was an awesome way to spend New Year’s.”

My dad doesn’t look away from the road, but he smiles. “No problem, honey.”

A nervous knot forms in my stomach.

  “Did you know everyone there?”

“Well, not quite everyone. Lots of people brought dates, but as far as people who work at the company, sure. It’s not so big that we don’t know each other.”

“Do you remember the guy I talked to? He had dark brown hair.” I want to say, oh you know, the ridiculously handsome man? The one with the well-cut, navy blue suit whose muscular body was visible even through his clothes. But that wouldn’t sit right with my dad.

  He shrugs. “Maybe?”

“I think his name was Charles.”

“Oh, of course. Charles is the head of the company. He’s my boss. A really great guy.”

“Oh,” I say staring at my lap.

It was probably my imagination that he was flirting with me, anyway. It would be crazy for the CEO of a company to be interested in someone like me.

But even after my dad drops me off and I’m back in my dorm room, I still can’t stop thinking about Charles’ warm smile and strong hands.

  Chapter 3

  Charles

The president of Northeastern State wants to have a meeting with me, something about a software contract. At first, I’m sure I’m not going to take it. But after a few conversations with one of the managers, I know Emma is a student there.

There are hundreds of students at Northeastern. The chances of me running into her are completely slim. But once the meeting is over, I can’t bring myself to go back to the office. The knowledge that Emma is here, somewhere close by, fills me with excitement.

If we just so happened to meet again, that would mean something.

But maybe the fact that I can’t get her out of my mind means something, too.

I walk back to the student union. I try not to think about the eyes that follow me as I move through the lunchtime crowds. Maybe it’s because I’m much older than most of the students here. Maybe it’s because I’m in a suit. Or maybe, they’re just mistaking me for their economics professor. It’s not too hard to find a table with a good view of the passing students. I pull out my laptop, and after a few minutes, I fall into the swing of things. The chatter of the passing students is perfect white noise. I’m absorbed in my emails for almost an hour until I feel someone looking at me. I can feel the hair on the back of my neck standing up.

  I look up.

Emma is across the room, staring at me over the pages of her book.

I cast my gaze upward, tilting my head and pretending to be lost in thought.

I hold the pose for a moment before I look back to my computer. I sneak another glace.

  It’s really her. She’s here.

And her eyes are on me.

  Chapter 4

  Emma

What is Charles doing at my school?

I thought I was dreaming at first. I thought that my little crush had turned into a full-on delusional daydream where I was seeing my dad’s boss all over town. But then he looked up from his computer, a few loose strands of hair falling into his face, and I knew it was really him.

  But why is he here?

Did he know I would be here?

  Did he see me?

  I try to look ba
ck down at my chemistry textbook, but the words swim across the page. I can’t concentrate. So after a few minutes, I slam my book shut and slide it into my bag. My stomach is doing somersaults inside of me as I approach his table.

Once he spots me, he pulls his hands into his lap and gives me that sexy smile again.

“Emma?” he says with a question in his voice.

My breath catches in my throat. He remembered my name.

“Charles, right? What are you doing here?”

“I had a business meeting with the president of the school.” He pauses and flicks his eyebrow up. “I wasn’t expecting to get to continue our conversation”

I feel my cheeks redden. “I’m surprised you remembered me at all.”

His face suddenly gets very serious. “I could never forget a woman as beautiful as you.”

A chill goes down my back. Is he for real? I’ve never had a guy talk to me like this before.

“I want to ask you something,” he says after a moment.

  “Go for it.”

“Would you go on a date with me?”

  “Yes,” I say without thinking.

  Chapter 5

  Emma

Later that day, Charles texts me to ask for my school schedule. He wants to pick me up after my last class on Friday. I ask him if he’ll tell me what kind of date this is going to be, but he dodges the question. He just tells me to be myself, which is kind of hilarious. I don’t really think he wants me to be my shy and awkward little self. But whatever.

“I have a date on Friday,” I mention to my roommate, Melissa, over dinner. “I’m nervous about it.”

“Are you kidding me?” she says over a mouthful of pizza. “With who?”

  “His name is Charles.”

“Is he sophomore? I don’t know anyone in our class named Charles.”

I shake my head, feeling the blush creep into my cheeks. “He’s older. Like, out of college type of older.”

Her eyebrows pop up. “Let me see.”

I search for my dad’s Facebook friends to find Charles’ page. It’s not the first time I’ve looked through it. But I can’t admit that to Melissa. I pull up his profile photo and hand my photo over to her. Her eyes go wide when she sees it.

“Dude, he is hot. Don’t be nervous. I’m surprised a guy like that isn’t already married.”

“He’s not,” I say quickly. “But he’s kinda... my dad’s boss.”

Melissa laughs. “Be careful with that, girl.”

And I know she’s right, but it leaves an uneasy feeling in the pit in my stomach.

  Chapter 6

  Charles

I watch Emma hesitate as I hold the car door open for her, but she gets inside. She fidgets with the edge of her skirt. I want to reach out and touch her, place a calming hand on her shoulder. But I don’t think the time is right.

“So, where are we going, exactly?” she asks as the driver pulls us onto the highway.

“The snow is freshest right now. It’s the perfect time to ski. I wanted to take my jet over to the Poconos to ski, and I figured you might enjoy that.”

“Your jet?” she says, her jaw open.

“Yes,” I say with a little laugh. “It’s only an hour long flight.”

She is wide-eyed as my driver brings us onto the tarmac. The interior of my plane has dark leather and thick, plum colored carpets. For me, it’s just another thing that gets me around, but it’s nice to see it through her eyes, to watch the surprise on her face.

“I would have never guessed you were this... well, rich.”

“That’s good to hear. I don’t want people to think differently of me, to think I’m over the top or frivolous. I prefer having experiences over material possessions.” I say, surprising even myself. I don’t normally like to get this honest, but there’s something about her that makes me want to open up. “I think of the jet as something that makes it easier to get around. Not much different than a car.”

She nods in agreement. After we take off, Emma and I fall into an easy conversation. I haven’t talked this long in years, and I don’t know if a conversation has ever come so easily. She listens with the most intent face, like she’s trying to etch my every word into her memory. But when she laughs, she moves so easily, throwing her whole body into it.

It’s impossible not to fall in love with her.

  Chapter 7

  Emma

As it turns out, I’m the worst skier in the world. I figured that I would be okay on the bunny slopes, but after the fourth time of falling on my face into the snow, I had to accept that I just suck at skiing.

But at least I have a good teacher. And it’s actually probably a great thing that I’m terrible at skiing. If I was good, Charles wouldn’t have the chance to give me so many pointers. He touches my hips, aligning them with my shoulders. He runs his hands up my legs, instructing me not to lock my knees. Even through the layers of my snow pants, it feels good. It feels good enough to distract me from the snow in front of me and pull my thoughts back to him.

“You’re doing much better than I did on my first time,” Charles insists as we load into the ski lift.

“Somehow I doubt that. You could probably ski circles around me.”

“No, I’m serious,” he says with a laugh. “The first time I went skiing, I didn’t even have snow pants, and I walked around with wet jeans all day. It was a nightmare.”

I can’t help but laugh. The tip of his nose is a raw and ripe shade of red, and I have to resist the urge to kiss him there. I’m not sure if that would be too forward. I mean, I know he said this was a date, but I just don’t know if he likes me. The thought of being rejected by someone as handsome and charming as him is too much. I don’t know how I would recover. So I’m content to wait.

I can’t make the first move and scare him off.

But I can’t resist the urge to kiss him forever.

And I don’t have to. Because he leans over and kisses me. My mouth falls open under the pressure of his lips. He pulls me close to his body, and every fiber of my being shakes with need.

  Chapter 8

  Charles

The first thing I do when I get to my cabin is light the fireplace. Once the wood is crackling, I show Emma around. There’s a plush bed, a claw foot tub, and enough thick quilts to keep an entire army warm.

“I kind of never want to leave this place,” she breathes.

I pull open a dresser drawer and lay some clothes out on the bed for her. There is a plain t-shirt and a pair of flannel pajama pants, both likely too big for her, but at least they’re dry. I settle into a chair against the wall, facing her. I figure she’ll duck into the bathroom to change, but she doesn’t. She watches me and doesn’t break eye contact as she pulls her damp, dark blouse up, exposing her body.

“You have no idea how many things I want to do to you right now.”

“I might have a few ideas,” she says, a shy smile playing on her lips.

“I’ve been thinking about you ever since the first moment I met you. And all I want is to be in you. I want to live a life like this with you, Emma. Every day.”

  She bites her lip.

  “There’s something I haven’t told you.”

I try to stop myself from disappointment. A young, college-aged girl like her probably has a boyfriend she’s never mentioned.

“I’m not used to anything like this,” she says, looking up at me through her eyelashes. “I’ve never been with anyone at all.”

  I grind my teeth.

  “You’re going to be mine.”

  She nods.

I stand and close the distance between us, pulling her body against mine. I place my hand against her cheek.

This feels like a fantasy. Her gorgeous body. Her beautiful eyes looking into mine.

“I want you,” she whispers back to me. “I want to be yours.”

I take her into another kiss. I slide my hands into the waistband of her pants, gripping at the soft glo
bes of her ass. I slide the pants down until she whimpers.

  “Lay down,” I command.

  Chapter 9

  Emma

He runs his hands up and down my legs, teasing at the edges of my underwear. I lift my hips off of the soft surface of the bed, begging for him to remove them. I’ve never felt like this in my life. He presses his palms against the inside of my knees, spreading my legs apart.

“This is mine,” he snarls. “All mine.”

All I can do is nod.

His fingers spread the lips of my pussy open, and I watch him inhale sharply. His fingers dip into me. My back arches against him. He presses his thumb into my clit, and it feels like my eyes are going to roll back into my skull.

  “Charles,” I moan.

“You’re mine, Emma. Your body is mine.” His fingers build up a rhythm inside of me. “Your pussy is mine. I’m going to be the first person to feel you from the inside. And I’m going to be the last. The only man who will ever fill you with his cum.”

“So do it,” I murmur. “Take me.”

He pulls his hand away, and I miss it for a moment, until I feel the head of his cock pressing against my opening.

He watches my face as he sinks his dick inside of me. His face is a powerful mask of desire and concentration. It feels like I could melt under the heat of him. He leans down over me, kissing me hard as he pushes deeper into me. I moan into his mouth, digging my nails into his back. He can take a hint and begins fucking me in earnest, sliding deep and slow strokes into me.

I grind my hips upward, begging for more without words.

  “Tell me what you want.”

“More.” That’s all I can manage.

  “More what?” he teases.

“Fuck me harder,” I gasp. “Please, fuck me harder.”
